The local organising committee board for the 2027 ODI World Cup will be chaired by former finance minister Trevor Manuel.

Manuel, who played a key role in driving South Africa’s economic reform and national development planning, brings decades of leadership experience to the role. He will oversee a 14-member board made up of independent and non-independent directors, supported by three ex-officio CSA executives.

The LOCB has been tasked with delivering a successful World Cup alongside Zimbabwe and Namibia, with matches spread across host cities including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, East London and Paarl.

Forty-four matches will be staged in South Africa, with another 10 played in Zimbabwe and Namibia.

CSA says the 2027 edition will be more than just a cricket tournament. It aims to expand the game into new areas across southern Africa, showcase African culture on the global stage, and create an inclusive, unifying event for fans.
