The itel S18 and Realme C30s are currently two of the latest budget smartphones in Kenya. The S18 and C30s are unique and sport different capabilities as well as specs while both retailing at under 11K.

In this article, we’ll be doing a comparison review of the two phones to determine which is the best in terms of user experience and pricing.

Unique selling proposition

Both the itel S18 and Realme C30s have separate unique selling propositions aka the reason or reasons why the manufacturer would like you to buy the handset.

For the S18, itel has majorly taken keen attention on its AI camera sporting a star-ring design and its RAM extension technology. Meanwhile, Realme mashed its efforts on the C30s fast fingerprint unlock system and large 5000mAh battery.

Technical Profile Comparison

Design

Specifications Realme C30s itel S18
Size 164.2 x 75.7 x 8.5 mm 169.2 x 77.7 x 8.8 mm

The itel S18 and Realme C30s are both pleasing to the eye even though they sport unique design schemes. The S18 showcases a sleek star ring design on the back with a dual ring lens while the C30s boasts a micro anti-slip texture that is both fashionable and helps with grip.

Again, when it comes to design, it all depends on the consumer. Nevertheless, in my case, I would prefer the itel S18 over the C30s.

Display

Specifications Realme C30s itel S18
Display Size 6.5 inches 6.6 inches
Display Resolution 720 x 1600 pixels 720 x 1612 pixels
Display Resolution Density 270 PPI 272 PPI
Display Type IPS LCD IPS LCD

Display-wise, both smartphones share equally visual features from panel type to resolution. The only catch is the S18 is 0.1-inches larger than the C30s. Plus, it has a better screen resolution density.

Otherwise, it’s a draw on the visual experience department.

Camera

Specifications Realme C30s itel S18
Rear Camera 8 MP 8 MP
Selfie Camera 5 MP 8 MP
Flash Single LED Dual LED

On the camera front, the S18 leads but, by quite a small margin. Touted as a camera-centric smartphone, especially for selfies, it comes with an 8MP AI shooter on the front while the C30s houses a 5MP lens. It’s also better when it comes to software specs such as night mode and video beauty.

Performance

Specifications Realme C30s itel S18
Operating System Android 12 Android 12
RAM 2/3/4 GB 2+2GB
Internal Memory 32/64 GB 64 GB
Micro SD Yes, up to 128 GB Yes, up to 128 GB

What’s most significant on the S18’s performance profile is the RAM extension technology capable of bumping up memory from 2GB to 4GB, allowing for a smoother and faster experience. The C30s comes in different fixed variations ranging from 2/3/4GB.

Not much of a big difference performance-wise on other aspects as they are both clocked at 1.6Ghz and come with 64GB internal storage.

Battery

Specifications Realme C30s itel S18
Battery Capacity Li-Po 5000 mAh Li-Po 5000 mAh
Charging Speed 10w 10w

Likewise, they both draw power from 5000mAh batteries so you can enjoy long-lasting fun whether gaming or watching videos.

Commentary

Both the itel S18 and Realme C30s are incredibly awesome in their own rights. They have clear displays, epic designs, equal performance, and battery life.

However, when it comes down to a direct comparison, the S18 edges the C30s if we consider the design and the selfie camera.
