Dean Elgar, Kyle Abbott and Bjorn Fortuin were the standout South African performers abroad over the past week.

County Championship Division One

Former Proteas captain Dean Elgar scored 150 (17 fours, one six) for Essex in their draw against Durham. Simon Harmer chipped in with the bat, scoring 44 off 70 balls (five fours), before taking 3-64 in Durham’s second innings.

Former Proteas seamer Kyle Abbott formed part of a formidable attack with spinner Bjorn Fortuin as both bowlers claimed four-wicket hauls for Hampshire in their draw with Sussex.

County Championship Division Two 

Leus du Plooy scored 105 (nine fours) for Middlesex in their drawn match with Derbyshire.

Northamptonshire’s Ricardo Vasconcelos hit 50 off 70 balls (eight fours, one six) in a drawn match against Glamorgan. Former Proteas batsman Colin Ingram hit a second-innings 55 for Glamorgan.

Caribbean Premier League

Eathan Bosch took 3-26 before Rassie van der Dussen scored 37* off 27 deliveries (two fours, one six) in the Barbados Royals’ one-run loss to the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

Quinton de Kock struck 55 off 35 balls (three fours, three sixes) in the Barbados Royals’ seven-wicket win against the Trinbago Knight Riders.
