The 2025-26 SA20 season gets underway with a Boxing Day clash between MI Cape Town and Durban’s Super Giants at Newlands.

The league confirmed its season-four fixtures on Thursday, with the tournament running from 26 December to 25 January.

This year’s edition of the SA20 has been tailored to maximise the festive period, with matches heavily weighted towards the coast early in the tournament.

A full day of cricket is scheduled for 27 December, with Centurion hosting the Jukskei derby between the Pretoria Capitals and Joburg Super Kings, while the Paarl Royals face the Sunrisers Eastern Cape at Boland Park.

Holidaymakers can also look forward to New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day matches for the first time in the tournament’s short history. On 31 December, the Sunrisers Eastern Cape host the Paarl Royals at St George’s Park before MI Cape Town take on the Pretoria Capitals at Newlands. The Wanderers will host Joburg Super Kings and Durban’s Super Giants on 1 January.

“Season four of SA20 will be unique,” said league commissioner Graeme Smith. “We’ve carefully planned the fixtures to make the most of the festive season and school holidays. With the early part of the fixtures weighted towards our coastal venues, holidaymakers will have a fantastic entertainment option fit for the entire family.”

The “Tweede Nuwe Jaar” celebrations will feature a Cape derby in Paarl on 2 January, where the Royals will aim to extend their perfect home record from last season. MI Cape Town also went unbeaten at home during the 2024-25 campaign.

On 3 January, the tournament shifts to the Highveld for a double-header, with the Super Kings facing the Sunrisers at the Wanderers before the Capitals and Super Giants square off at Centurion.

The playoffs will be played from 21 to 23 January, with the final scheduled for 25 January. Venues for these fixtures will be announced in due course.

Ticket pre-sales open on 17 September and close on 9 October, giving fans the first chance to secure the best seats before they go on sale to the public. Registration is open until midnight on 15 September at the SA20 website.
