The She’s Next programme, the global initiative by Visa in partnership with Absa, is aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs, and has officially opened applications for its 2025 South African edition. Now in its second year locally, the programme offers more than just funding—it’s an opportunity for women-led businesses seeking to scale, innovate, and thrive.

Backed by over R1 million in grant funding, the initiative also provides access to tailored training, mentorship, and networking opportunities—resources that are often out of reach for many women in business.

“Visa is committed to helping women develop and excel in business,” says Lineshree Moodley, Country Head at Visa South Africa. “Through She’s Next, we aim to encourage and enable even more participation of women in driving the economy.”

Last year’s programme saw Mahlatse Mamaila, founder of InoBiodiesel, walk away with a R400,000 grant to expand her green energy venture. Her story is a testament to the transformative power of targeted support.

“She’s Next continues to champion growth and resilience of female entrepreneurs, empowering them to scale their businesses and drive economic impact. We’re excited to see which businesses excel in the competition this year,” says Moodley.

Eligible, women entrepreneurs from all industries and sectors in South Africa, are encouraged to apply by 30 July 2025.

To learn more about the She’s Next programme and initiative, eligibility and apply, applicants must submit a short application form via https://www.visa.co.za/run-your-business/she-is-next.html with details about their business. Applications are open until 30 July, with the winner set to be announced in September 2025.
