What is TMS?
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain to improve symptoms of mental health conditions. It is a clinically proven and innovative treatment solution.
How does TMS work?
- A magnetic pulse is produced using an electromagnetic coil.
- The magnetic pulse is used to stimulate nerve cells in the brain.
- The stimulation activates neural activity and changes the function of the brain cells.
The technology is effective, mild and non-invasive
- Clinically proven to reduce depression and certain psychiatric and neurological diseases.
- TMS is non-invasive and does not require the patient to be fully sedated.
- The treatment can cause mild side effects such as headaches, nausea, and muscle twitching but does not affect memory.
How long does a TMS session last?
The duration of the session depends on the predetermined treatment protocol for your condition. Some conditions can be treated in a few days, and others can last for 13 weeks. It all depends on your condition.
What happens in a TMS session?
- Initially, we will take several measurements of your head to find the exact treatment spot for your condition.
- You will wear a special personalised cap with your specific measurements marked on it.
- You will sit in a lazy boy chair with a travel pillow to ensure your comfort and keep your head stable.
- The TMS technician will place the TMS coil on your head in the marked position and start the treatment.
- You will feel some electromagnetic pulses on your head.
- Once the treatment session is over, we observe you for about 10 minutes, let you drink some water, and then you can depart.

Do you have to stay in the hospital to receive TMS treatment?
Only the accelerated 5-day treatment requires inpatient treatment. All other treatments are done as outpatients over several days a week.
