Vivo is going to the extreme to revamp their top of the range lineup. The global version of the new Vivo X300 has been seen on Geekbench, where its performance was beyond a new Vivo X200 Ultra, an incubator of only a few months was released as the company’s highest-end model.

New MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset with 16 GB RAM is the magic. Thanks to this hardware upgrade, Vivo X300 single-core performance was raised by 27.8%, while multi-core performance was increased by 32.5%. If we tell the story by the benchmark scores: single-core 3,177 points compared with X200 Ultra’s Snapdragon 8 Elite average of 2,976/9,284.

We explain the comparison with performance data of the Dimensity 9500 versus the Dimensity 9400 showing that the new chipset will provide 57% faster single-core and more than 30% stronger multi-core results.

The Vivo X300 is however at the bottom of the list with regard to performance. It is less powerful than the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro and RedMagic 10S Pro, which are both gaming-optimized and run on Snapdragon 8 Elite. Even so, Vivo picking MediaTek as its partner for flagship and scoring such dramatic results is still pretty fascinating and quite likely to be part of a new trend in strategy.

Now, the big point is about timing. Vivo prioritizes the Chinese premiere of the X300 and X300 Pro; at the same time, Oppo readies its Find X9 series. All four models of the new generation will be equipped with Dimensity 9500, which will be launched on September 22.

Regarding the global market, no official release dates have been announced, and it is still not known whether the X300 Pro will be launched along with the base model. But the leak confirms that the global version of the Vivo X300 will come with 16 GB of RAM as a flagship device.
