British luxury carmaker Jaguar Land Rover has extended its production halt until September 24, following a major cyber attack on August 30.
The company cited ongoing forensic investigations and a phased restart of operations as reasons for the extended pause.
The cyber attack compromised key systems, including SAP, SCADA controllers, robotics, and CRM tools, affecting plants globally.
JLR’s factories in Solihull, Halewood, and Wolverhampton—producing 1,000 cars a day—have been idle for over three weeks, potentially impacting Tata Motors’ quarterly results, as JLR contributes 70% of its revenue.
Suppliers and 33,000 staff have also been affected, with some warning production may not resume until November.
JLR has reportedly lost at least $50 million so far.

Karnataka HC stays govt order capping movie ticket prices at ₹200
The Karnataka High Court has stayed the state government’s move to cap movie ticket prices at ₹200.
The order came in response to a petition by the Multiplex Association of India, with senior advocates arguing that the amendment was arbitrary, lacked legal basis, and violated the right to do business.

The government defended the cap as being in public interest under its constitutional powers.
The court observed that the amendment overstepped legal provisions and granted an interim stay, which will remain until further notice.
