Residents Of Flood-devastated Mbaula Village Plead For Everlasting Housing

Residents of Mbaula village in Limpopo are counting heavy losses two weeks after devastating floods swept by the world. A minimum of 36 properties have been destroyed, forcing dozens of households into overcrowded non permanent shelters as they wait for presidency help.

Clear-up operations stay sluggish, with mud, particles, and stagnant water nonetheless protecting streets and yards. The odor of damp earth hangs within the air as residents attempt to salvage what little stays of their belongings.

Many displaced households are sheltering at an area church corridor, the place circumstances are more and more troublesome.

“Half of my home was underwater”

Mathosi says she misplaced every part.

Houses constructed near the river

Authorities response
