Samsung Electronics East Africa has officially launched the Galaxy A07 in Kenya, the latest addition to its widely popular Galaxy A Series. The move is a deliberate effort by the tech giant to democratize technology and make quality smartphones accessible to a broader consumer base.

What you need to know: The Galaxy A07 is designed to be tough, reliable, and immersive, continuing Samsung’s commitment to delivering high-performance devices at an affordable price point. Its introduction aims to build on the significant market success of previous models in the A Series.

The focus: The Galaxy A Series has consistently been among the highest-selling smartphone lines in Kenya, with models like the Galaxy A05 and A06 performing strongly. A key factor behind their success has been their affordability, amplified by flexible financing options.

  • Samsung has partnered with Watu and M-KOPA to offer “buy-now-pay-later” solutions, making these devices attainable for low-income earners who might otherwise be unable to afford a new smartphone.
  • This strategy allows more Kenyans to own a device that supports their daily needs, a momentum that Samsung expects the new Galaxy A07 to carry forward.

In Perspective: The Galaxy A07 blends innovation with the performance and durability that Samsung is known for, positioning it as a dependable, feature-rich device for everyday use.

  • Durability: The phone is rated IP54 for splash and dust resistance, making it suitable for active, on-the-go lifestyles. It’s also remarkably slim and light at just 7.6 mm and 184 g, thanks to its GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic) build.
  • Display: A large 6.7-inch, 90 Hz screen is perfect for streaming, gaming, or multitasking, providing an immersive visual experience.
  • Storage and Memory: It comes in two variants with 64 GB and 128 GB of internal memory, both featuring 4+4 GB RAM to ensure smooth performance.
  • Battery: The robust 5,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging is built to last through long days of heavy use.
  • Security and Longevity: The device includes advanced security features like Samsung Knox Vault, Theft Protection, and Auto Blocker.Samsung also guarantees six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, ensuring the phone stays secure and up-to-date for years to come.

The Price: The recommended retail price for the Galaxy A07 4+64 GB is KSh 12,800, while the 4+128 GB model is priced at KSh 14,600. The device is available in three vibrant colors: Black, Light Violet, and Green.

The Final Words: The Samsung Galaxy A07 is more than just a new phone; it’s a strategic move to widen smartphone access in Kenya. Backed by a 24-month warranty, it’s now available at Samsung authorized dealers and through its financing partners, Watu and M-KOPA.
